Venture Capital - Money In Stages

The idea of pursuing venture capital is a prominent for most businesses looking to have a go at becoming a publicly traded company. The capital requirements for growth on such a large scale are usually measured in numbers with lots of commas. Bankers faint at such proposals, but venture capital funds do not. That being said, it doesn't mean you are going to get one big lump of money to do with as you please.

What do people do when they win the lotto? There are shows that track them down years later. Do you know what they show? The people usually blew most of the money on flashy items and useless stuff. They are usually broke or heading in that direction and wish they had never won the lotto to begin with. Why do I mention this? Because venture capital fund managers tend to view companies the same way.

What happens when a company has more money than it knows what to do with? It loses focus. Take Google. By all measures, the company is a wild success. It has a great search engine system and Android certainly seems to be a real winner. That being said, it also spends money on lots of projects that never have a hope of turning a dollar of profit. That is okay because the company is established, but not okay for a company trying to get into the big time.

It is important to understand that a Venture Capital Fund is not going to just dump millions in the bank account of your business. Not a chance! Instead, the manager of the fund is going to negotiate a total funding amount with you and then establish milestones which if met will result in further funding. This is known as "staging". If you meet the first stage in a timely manner, you get "x" amount of funding. You then have to meet the second stage in a timely manner to get an additional amount of funding and so on.

The key word in the previous paragraph is "negotiate". Many businesses are so excited to get funding that they agree to practically anything, including milestones that cannot realistically be met. This leads to burnout, excessive consumption of adult beverages and disaster sooner or later. That is the last thing you want to happen, so negotiate milestones that can be realistically reached.

Jump Into Your Best Life

Edmund Hillary said, "It is not the mountain we conquer, but ourselves." It's true. We think it is the mountain that must be conquered but it is what's happening on the inside that paves the way.

Many people doubt that they can create something really significant in this world. Self-limiting thoughts creep in and they wonder if they have what it takes or question if they are worthy of it. When you're stepping into your greater greatness, a lot of emotions surface, like worry, doubt, blame, impatience, and pessimism. The list goes on.

When I started my business and each time I decided to get to that next level, I remember the emotions. As I made these leaps, I would get this anxiousness, despite all of the ongoing personal development I've done. I want to share this with you because as you begin to take it to the next level, you might see these same emotions and then can recognize them quickly.

Early on when growing my business, I made decisions based on my short-term thinking. I would see an opportunity and look at what I didn't have to make "it" happen. You might get into this scarcity thinking, too, saying to yourself "gee, I don't have any money." I remember when I said that. Was it a reality? No. I had money in the bank but I thought from a place of scarcity "but it has to last" I said to myself. Now, when presented with an opportunity, I say, "what possibilities will this opportunity create?"

Spotting those self-limiting thoughts and feelings is so important to crossing into your next level. I also remember when I stepped into a "new" level; I got this little self-limiting thought, "what if I failed." What I know now is there was a three-letter word getting in my way: Ego. The ego often serves as a stable sense of identity and self-image. It wants to keep the status quo. Your ego will filter out anything that doesn't fit into that status quo. If the real world is different from what the ego wants it to be, the ego secretly distorts that reality and creates one that fits what it wants.

The key is to raise your awareness to a higher self and when you do, your conscious awareness can reveal possibilities.

According to Best-Selling Author, John Ryder, Ph.D. of Positive Directions, we have feelings that directly relate to the Lower Biological Nature or the Higher Spiritual Nature.

Feelings that are of the Lower Biological Nature include anger, blame, boredom, cynicism, overwhelm, pain, panic, pessimism, and worry. The list goes on. These are feelings of the ego that keep the status quo and often come up when we're making a really big change.

Feelings that are in the Higher Spiritual Nature include appreciation, commitment, eagerness, enthusiasm, faith, happiness, trust, and openness, to name a few. Notice how you may be feeling even when just reading those words.

"The key to transforming lower into higher emotions is to first identify the negative emotion, then find the most opposite feeling among the list of positive emotions," states John Ryder, Ph.D.

For example, fear is a self-limiting emotion. Recognize when you're allowing fear to stop you and identify its opposite emotion. Draw two columns and label one Lower Biological Nature and Higher Spiritual Nature. When your self-limiting or self-sabotaging feelings come up, like fear, anxiousness, or worry, write them down in the Lower Biological Nature column. Then, identify its opposite higher spiritual nature.

Notice when you find yourself procrastinating on a decision or other self-limiting behavior. Then, look at the underlying emotion. Notice what limitations you're putting on yourself. The moment you identify the self-limiting emotion, shift to its opposite emotion. Identify the emotions that will help you step toward your desired life.

Imagine for a moment your best life. You see it clearly in front of you and you're feeling confident, excited, content, and happy. You're ready to step ahead and a little voice is on your shoulder buzzing scared, panic, hesitation, and worry in your ear. Inside you know if you buy into that buzzing, you're Forgetting Everything is All Right (FEAR).

Instead, you look straight ahead with a big smile on your face and feel overcome with confidence, happiness, and self-assurance, and take a big giant step forward raising your arms in triumph.

With practice, you will see the switch happen quicker. Before you know it, you're conquering fear, moving toward those possibilities, and jumping into your best life.

Medical Transcription - Outsourcing Affordable Services

Medical transcription is the process of converting audio records of the patient-health care professional encounter into text format. By creating patient records, it is an integral part of the health care process both in the operational and commercial aspects. Though it is vital for the smooth running of the health care facility, it is not part of the core business of the health care facility.

Creation of patient records in-house would mean that the health care facility would have to allot valuable resources for in-house transcription, diluting the focus on the core business. Moreover executing this function in-house would result in increasing the cost per line of transcription. Availing specialty to services would ensure that the focus of the health care facility is not diluted and could help curtail the cost per line of transcription.

Availing these services from a transcription vendor would ensure that the service provider sources and recruits the right candidates and develops the skills to ensure that they can serve the needs of the health care professionals by creating patient records with maximum accuracy and within the turnaround time required.

Total focus of the service provider: Apart from the skill set of the teams, the process requires the total focus of resources like real estate, equipments, working capital and technology, to make it efficient and affordable. Availing these services from a specialized source ensures that the service provider focuses all its resources on this process making it efficient and affordable.

Process for transcription: To ensure that the transcripts produced are of requisite quality, it important to have a process in place that ensures that more than one person hears the audio files. This ensures that the blanks in the transcript are minimized. The transcription vendor ensures that the transcripts are put through a stringent quality check process before transmitting back to the concerned health care professional

Right technology: The process of creating patient medical records has evolved over the ages into the virtual world. This process requires technology at every stage to make the process easy, speedy and secure. Outsourcing ensures that the service provider has the right technology that only makes the process easy, speedy and secure but also provides additional benefits like archiving, HL7 integration and report distribution.

It can be concluded that outsourcing medical transcription not only makes it efficient and affordable but also has additional benefits in the form of increased accuracy and speed, technological benefits like archiving and HL7 integration.

Decreasing Company Weakness Through Risk Management

Risk management is the process that is performed by an organization in order for it to identify, assess and prioritize the risks that might be encountered in the business or on a project. Coordination and economical application of the supplies or resources are also part of this strategy, which will help in minimizing, monitoring, and controlling the probability as well as the impact of the adverse events. This also helps in the maximization of the realization of the opportunities which can aid the business to grow and develop into a more successful organization. Risks are considered to be a part of the business world and they can either have a positive or negative effect. Actually, risks are not dangerous. They are called such because they pertain to the uncertainty of a particular activity or the objectives themselves. When the risks become perilous to the company, they are then known as threats.

A risk assessment will have to focus on various things including financial markets and their vagueness, project failures, credit risk, legal liabilities, accidents, and natural causes. You should also not forget that there might be adversaries that will throw deliberate attacks on your company so make sure that you also include them in your disaster management process. Now, each company can have different tactics and systems for the implementation of risk assessment. Aside from that, there are also definitions and goals that you may have for your risk assessment program and these differ from the other organizations with the same program as yours.

Strategies for the risks evaluated also vary but there are common techniques being utilized today. Among them are the tactics to transfer the risks to another party, reduce the negative effect of a particular risk in the business, avoid the risk, and simply accept the consequences that might affect the company. Risk assessment however does not guarantee the success of the firm. Still, this can be used to gain confidence in the estimates and the decisions that you have made especially since you will usually find that the choices that you have sided with are correct most of the time.

As mentioned, risk assessment involves prioritizing the risks in your business so this means that you will have to make a list of the known risks that might become threats in the future for your organization. After you have made such a list, you will need to prioritize them by order. The risks with the greatest loss as well as those with the greatest probability of occurrence are those that should be handled first. The problem is that it is quite difficult to follow the process mainly because there is a need to balance the risks and at times everything can be mismanaged.

Various types of risk assessment include intangible risk, relationship risk, and process engagement. Intangible risk evaluation is all about the risks that will surely hit the company but the organization has failed to notice them. Relationship risk assessment is for giving corrective solutions during ineffective collaboration while process engagement is for useless operational procedures. Risk assessment enables the risk managers to create instantaneous value from the reduction and the identification of the risks that have the possibility to reduce productivity.

Techniques To Improve Your Tele-Sales

If it's done properly, tel-sales is an effective way to help your business grow. This series of articles sets out some of the basics that can make the difference between being one of the best or one of the rest.

Techniques

Smile when you are speaking on the phone. This might sound unusual when your prospect can not see your face or your wonderful smile, but smiling has a psychological effect on your brain which in turn affects the way that you speak, which of course can be heard in your voice.

Be confident and self-assured, do not come across as being apologetic for calling, you have something important to communicate, believe that and it will show in your voice.

Try standing up when you make calls, you will find that your voice is much stronger when you stand.

Address your prospect by name (but not too often), make your approach in a conversational style, so use their name where it is appropriate. However, if you use it too much, you will come across as false and insincere.

Your objective should be to build rapport and empathize with your prospect; you need to understand what their drivers are. What are their needs and wants?

Active Listening

One of the biggest mistakes that tel-sales people make is to get too caught up in getting across their message to the prospect. The inept or inexperienced launch into their sales pitch at the earliest opportunity and carry on (seemingly without drawing breath) trying to impose their will on their potential customer. The conversation becomes a test of strength and endurance to see who will give in first.

The rule should be that you have two ears and one mouth and they should be used in that proportion - listen twice as much as you speak. Nod your head in acknowledgment, even though your prospect can not see it, it will come across in your tone.

Make noises of affirmation; let your prospect know that you understand where they are coming from and that you empathize with their issues.

Listen with patience and affection, remember that you are building a relationship with the person on the other end of the phone; they need to feel that you are interested in what they have to say and if you listen carefully while they are saying it, they will tell you what their needs and wants are. It is your job to interpret that information and convert it into benefit and value statements that your products or services can satisfy. Use the answers to your questions to make the hooks that later in the conversation you will hang your solutions on.

Workplace Safety Tips

When we speak of safety based on books, its importance is next to food. It is essential for all individuals including the workers in companies and their respective families as well. The rising number of individuals affected by workplace-induced accidents is totally unacceptable. Upon review, such accidents have the potential for risk management but were not totally managed by concerned individuals resulting in injury to people. The accident could have been prevented if the right management and leadership skills. The strategy includes tactical planning and the utilization of safety hazard tools to prevent further damage in times of calamities.

The seriousness of such injuries created in their workplace impairs the workers to perform tasks at work creating a heavy financial burden and manpower shortage on the side of the company. The company might as well suffer the consequences of expensive medical assistance and insurance because there is a corresponding legal implication if they failed to follow the employer worker's working contract. Workplace-induced injuries are affecting the entire workforce, making way for the concept of workplace safety to emerge in every company's written rules.

As a precaution for companies, it is essential that they should provide their workers with personal safety gear, safety tools, workforce apparel, and manuals in cases of emergency and disaster. Part or portion of their worker's training should include a few hours of emergency and disaster management and appropriate wearing and manipulation of safety gears and equipment. It is essential that workers are always prepared and assessed before they enter their respective departments because nobody can tell when an emergency or a disaster strikes us. The company should enforce and ensure a safe environment for their workers.

As a precaution to workers, they should also take the responsibility to ask for any training and participate in other emergency and disaster management plans because it is for their safety. Their bosses would just come to their company for a few hours and they are the one who spends most of the time there.

Big companies have specialized internal divisions implementing safety and hazard-free standards. They are the one who promulgates rules and reprimand violators of the said rules. The division works hand in hand with another department to share one common goal, and that is workplace safety. We also have external regulating divisions responsible for conducting structured accreditation and quality assurance inspection. They aim to make sure that the public is being protected the moment they enter the company's establishment and the individuals who work in the company.

At the national level, there is a regulating agency responsible for implementing safety standards and regulation of workplace-related injuries either caused by faulty engineering or disaster-induced calamities. They are the one who checks the company's safety standards and permits big establishments to operate after an actual ocular inspection. They are also implementing workplace caring campaigns and conducting random or surprise inspections of establishments that have reported unsatisfactory workplace security standards.

It is always best to prevent than to deal with the actual damage. It takes time, money, and effort cheaper than dealing with cases of serious damage because of faulty plans. A workplace safety plan is not only for individual workers but also for company owners. And this is not possible without the collaborative approach of the two.

What To Check Before Choosing From Swimming Pool Service In Austin

There is no better way to cool off during the long, hot Texas summers than to relax in your clean, functional swimming pool. The key to getting the most out of your pool is proper maintenance. This means that you need to enlist the services of a competent swimming pool repair service in Austin. Here are some things you should check on when it comes to pool maintenance.

Swimming Pool Service in Austin: Areas to Keep a Check On

There are specific parts of a swimming pool that require regular monitoring to ensure that they are working optimally. An oversight may not only lead to you not being able to enjoy a dip in the pool when you want to, but it could also cost you a hefty bill in repairs.

Swimming Pool Plumbing: The regular functioning of all parts in your swimming pool is dependent on the plumbing. Plumbing is responsible for waterfalls, chlorination systems, skimmers, auto water-levelers, pool/spa heating, drains/returns, spa jets/air, pool cleaning, and much more. Pumps are the source of water entering the swimming pool. The plumbing system consists of gas heaters, pumps flitting, chlorinators, etc. Detecting Leaks in the Pool: Due to changes in the weather or regular wear and tear, a pool is prone to leakage. Most leakages take place in the pipes of the swimming pool. A breakage in the pipes could result in a huge leak in the pool. The pool wall is also prone to cracks due to the shifting soil. This can be repaired by using an epoxy injection method. The entire leakage repair should be left to professionals to avoid any further damage to the swimming pool. Regular Swimming Pool Services: Routine swimming pool services will help you keep the pool clean and detect any problem before it gets out of control. Regular services will actually lower your overall costs in running the pool. Skimmers and filters should also be regularly checked for optimal functioning. You can hire a professional who provides weekly services to keep a proper eye during the hottest time of the year to avoid any problems developing during that time. Swimming Pool Repair: If your pump is making unnecessary loud noises in the pool, there might be chances that it requires repair or replacement. Any lighting problem in the pool should be handled by experts since the wires in the pool are very dangerous. Even small repairs should be done by professionals, as this small investment will enhance the pool's longevity. Landscaping: A variety of landscaping choices ranging from wooden decks to custom-made concrete are offered by professionals. Landscaping can enhance the surroundings of your pool and make it the perfect place to unwind with friends on a hot summer's day.

Desperate for Business Growth Go for Display Stands

Display stands are considered to play a very important part in business today. They are placed in front of the stores and display items are placed in them. A buyer comes and sees each variety and then chooses to buy whichever they want. This way the display stands help in business growth. This growth is even visible when you know that it is comparably cheap than having a salesman. The regular salary is not there, buying such a stand is a one-time investment. Even then also buyers are able to see all the varieties that may not have been possible to attend by the salesman. One stand can be attended by many buyers whereas a salesman can only attend a single person. These stands come in various shapes and sizes. Like many tires and single tires or even, they can be rolling or not rolling. It will depend on your choice.
You may choose display stands according to your own requirements. This must be taken into consideration also that the display stand is for advertisement so it must be attractive and the products placed in it must be visible. There is a new dimension of the display stand that is gaining more and more importance. This is using a display stand as a business card holder. This may seem a bit different. This is actually done by businessmen or business organizations who believe in business card holders to be used as a medium for business expansion. Two or three tire display stands are taken for keeping the business cards and people collect them as their need drives them to collect them. Like a taxi driver can keep his business card in pubs and restaurants, an architect can keep his card in front of a construction house. Or a big brand can keep its business card in any shopping mall. There the stand will work as a business card holder and is properly making business growth. This is also taken into consideration that the card must be attractive and small in size. Attractive to attract and small so that once collected one can keep it in his or her wallet. The best would be to make it as small as a credit card. The information given in the card must be genuine and upgraded. Like if you are giving any discount the cards must be taken back once the date is over. Or the date of the discount must be clearly mentioned on the card. The business card holder placed on display stands is also known to be a symbol of growth beyond a limited area. Such as you are an in-state business and you wish to reach people of another state in cheap then this is really going to help you. Advertising through business card holders is very fruitful as it is very personalized. A buyer directly gets your name and number along with the card. So the possible business growth is very high. They are even placed in fares to grab national buyers or bulk buyers.

Mistakes to Avoid When Writing Your Resume

With hundreds of resumes received for an open position, only a select few are chosen for an interview. A resume needs to avoid making mistakes to give you a chance of being one of the select few.

When a person screens through a large stack of resumes, typically any resume containing an error is discarded without a second thought. Common mistakes, such as; spelling, grammar, and proper formatting are sure-fire ways of ensuring you don't get called for an interview. These types of mistakes display carelessness to a potential employer. At least spelling, grammar, and formatting are easy mistakes to fix. Simply do a spell check and review your resume before you send it off to potential employers.

A major mistake that can prevent you from getting an interview is leaving out important information. Sometimes this can be simple identifying information such as your phone number, or e-mail address. Obviously, you can't get called for an interview if an employer can't reach you. Also, it brings about red flags if you don't identify where you are from. I once felt duped when I contacted a candidate for a phone interview, only to find the person I was talking to lived on the other side of the country. To make matters worse, this candidate wanted our company to pay for moving expenses. Needless to say, he didn't get the job.

Another simple mistake that is surprisingly made quite frequently is using acronyms in a resume or cover letter. When you work for a company, you learn many acronyms; it's almost as if you learn a new language. For example, if I were to apply for a job, I may say that I process criminal record checks, which at my place of work is typically written as CRC in e-mails. No one outside of my workplace would know what I'm talking about if I simply use the acronym, CRC. Also, since employers typically will scan through a resume, even writing "criminal record checks (CRC)" and using "CRC" after that point is a mistake. Potential employers are quickly scanning a resume and may miss a line that defines what an acronym means; therefore, making the rest of the resume unclear. Your best bet is to avoid using acronyms so you can ensure potential employers know exactly what you're talking about.

It's common to make last-minute revisions before sending a resume off to a potential employer. One mistake to avoid is forgetting to save the resume before e-mailing it. You don't want to put a lot of work into perfecting your resume, only to let one silly mistake ruin your chance of getting selected for an interview.

The bottom line is a resume should sell you to a potential employer. You want to project yourself as a quality employee that is capable of producing excellent work. An error-free resume is a great way of ensuring you promote the right message to an employer.

Restaurant Interior Design

A lot more Americans dine out every week than take part in some other kind of enjoyment nowadays. Americans now consume a lot more meals away from home and dining has grown to be what folks do to relax, unwind or have a good time. A vacation in Europe establishes the opposite. Meals there are served much later on and have an even more celebratory air about them.

Individuals are more involved in the conversation and also dinner is much more of an occasion compared to a way of life. Sometimes food and service usually are not sufficient. Our taste is just one of our senses. Individuals who eat out wish to eat in an atmosphere that is both inviting and warm.

The interior design elements employed in restaurants differ from those designs found in homes along with other establishments. Interior designers utilize sight as well as sound which come with the smell and taste of the meal. Colors and lights not only help make the patron at ease but they are also meant to make the client famished.

Colors have an effect on us physically and psychologically so often an interior designer is a lot more apt to utilize a saturated red. This is a warm color and is the most dynamic. It is frequently used in restaurants as well as kitchen areas simply because red enhances food and makes us hungry.

Color is not the only element important in decorating a restaurant. Comfort is key. Luxurious, comfortable seating with a softer light will persuade folks to eat more. They find themselves comfortable and therefore are more likely to relax, eat and drink more.

An internationally renowned mixed-media artist who specializes in painting lessons can be found in Los Angeles. Interior designers really like this mixed media and are also in demand for popular collage painting in Los Angeles. For those who love art, this is definitely the way to go.

Double Your Productivity Mostly use 7 Secrate

Do you think it is possible to double your productivity as early as this month? If you think this sounds impossible, just think about this: As you are reading this, people who are no smarter or harder working than you, are making millions of dollars a year, or even a month!

This means that the only thing possible is that they know a few secrets about productivity that enables them to do a whole lot more in a whole lot less time. Let us look at seven secrets that you can start using today.

1. Smart Outsourcing

Most of the time, wasters in your life or your work are probably things that could be better handled by someone else. These are all things that you need to consider outsourcing. Even if you have to pay the person, consider the cost of the time that you would be spending doing that task yourself. If something is taking you 5 hours to do, and that's 5 hours you could be spending making $200, you would be better off paying someone $50 to do it for you so you can focus on more tasks that bring in more income.

2. Selective Ignorance

How much of your time is wasted consuming information that you will never use? For example, surfing the web, reading and responding to emails, reading the news etc., are all activities that can easily become time wasting information addictions.

Not to mention that much of the information you are exposed to is trying to either take MORE of your time (or your money) or be very negative in nature. Cultivate the art of selective ignorance and see just how much more time and concentration you will save as a result.

3. Batch Processing

Set aside time blocks where you can complete all of your tasks in batches. For example, emails between 2pm and 4pm on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, spending the last 20 minutes of the day organizing for the next day. In other words, instead of multitasking, focus on one job at a time until it is completed for the day. This is REALLY effective...

A recent University Study revealed that people that are interrupted by phone calls and emails scored LOWER than people who were stoned. So create time blocks for completing tasks in batches and eliminate the distractions from your life.

4. Prioritizing Your Daily Activities

Every time that you start out your day, it is crucial that you have it written down on paper first. Write down your daily tasks in order of priority and according to your larger long-term goals, then use the above batching process.

This will help you keep first things first and keep you from being bogged down in what Steven Covey calls "the thick of thin things." For best results, make your priority list at the end of each day, so that you will be fully ready before the next day even begins.

5. Develop a Sense of Urgency

A strong internal sense of urgency is what compels one person to finish a task in less than half the time that it would take someone who had no sense of urgency. Most people by nature allow a task to swell in complexity and size according to the time that they have to complete it, or they put it off and scramble to finish everything last minute. But a strong sense of personal urgency will compel you to start things as soon as possible and complete them long before your deadlines.

6. Start the Day Off Right

The way that you start the day sets the pace for the rest of the day. If you start out checking emails, organizing things on your desk, taking five trips to the bathroom, you lose more and more momentum with each task that isn't directed towards completing your "meaty" task of the day.

Better to hit the ground running with tasks that require a lot of energy and focus. This will also ensure that your later day tasks are easier, less dreadful and therefore less tempting to put off to the next day.

7. Recreational Time

Trying to go and go and go without taking any time off to rest your mind and your body is a certain way to stunt your ability to concentrate and to be as productive as possible. Take 15-20 minutes a day for meditation to clear your mind and make sure that one day a week is set aside for recreational activities.

Different Stages of a Business Proposal

A business proposal is an offer made to a customer or a client by the merchant with a motive to initiate business. The main aim is to offer a solution to a client and propose the products or services of an organization as a form of solution to a customer's problems.

A business proposal has got many different stages to undergo in order to prepare a result-oriented offer letter. Create the title of an offer letter that is working in nature and it should be a mind-gripping one. Conduct extensive literature research in order to find out the interests and needs of a target customer. Once you have gone through the market survey and studied well about your customers, you can keep their perspectives in mind and write a proposal that appeals to them the most. Write from a reader's perspective as you want your offer letter should be persuasive to them.

Begin with the introduction first and be brief in this paragraph as a reader may not have the luxury of time to go through an entire offer letter. You can cover the main points of discussion in the first topic itself. In the introduction, it is essential to unfold the budget to a client. However, this must be done intelligently so that a customer should not feel your offer as an expenditure. A proposal writer can make use of a world 'investment' to refer to the budget so that a reader presumes your offer as a profit. Once this section is over, you can draft other sections to clearly explain the project and you can even take a reader into detail so that once the proposal is accepted a reader may not feel that a particular point has been left untold to him. Give details of your complete company profile with prestigious projects, legal certification, and credentials for reliability and authenticity. In your offer letter, you should not overemphasize any point and make the proposal as brief and persuasive as possible.

1840 I- Fashion - CPR 1000 Current Probe Reader Manufacturer

Women's fashion Gowns Princess di Sant' Antimo's evening gown of watered silk shows the short sleeves, lace flounce collar, and long pointed waist of the early 1840s. The tiny pleats that gather her skirt can be seen at the waistline. 184044. Shoulders became narrow and sloping, waists became low and pointed, and sleeve detail migrated from the elbow to the wrists. Where pleated fabric panels had wrapped the bust and shoulders in the previous decade, they now formed a triangle from the shoulder to the waist of day dresses. Skirts evolved from a conical shape to a bell shape, aided by a new method of attaching the skirts to the bodice using organ or cartridge pleats which cause the skirt to spring out from the waist. Full skirts were achieved mainly through layers of petticoats. The increasing weight and inconvenience of the layers of starched petticoats would lead to the development of the crinoline in the second half of the 1850s. Sleeves were narrower and fullness dropped from just below the shoulder at the beginning of the decade to the lower arm, leading toward the flared pagoda sleeves of the 1850s and 1860s. Evening gowns were worn off the shoulder and featured wide flounces that reached to the elbow, often of lace. They were worn with sheer shawls and opera-length gloves. Another accessory was a small bag. At home, bags were often white satin and embroidered or painted. Outdoor bags were often green or white and tasseled. There were also crocheted linen bags. Shoes were made from the same materials as handbags. There were slippers of crocheted linen and bright-colored brocade satin slippers that were tied around the ankle with silk ribbon. Hairstyles and headgear Hairstyle of 1840 1848 fashion plate shows bonnets and winter wear. The wide hairstyles of the previous decade gave way to fashions that kept the hair closer to the head, and the high bun or knot on the crown descended to the back of the head. Hair was still generally parted in the center. Isolated long curls dangling down towards the front (sometimes called "spaniel curls") were worn, often without much relationship to the way that the rest of the hair was styled. Alternately the side hair could be smoothed back over the ears or looped and braided, with the ends tucked into the bun at the back. Linen caps with frills, lace, and ribbons were worn by married women indoors, especially for daywear. These could also be worn in the garden with a parasol. Bonnets for streetwear were smaller than in the previous decade and were less heavily decorated. The decorations that did adorn bonnets included flowers on the inside brim or a veil that could be draped over the face. Married women wore their caps under their bonnets. the crown and brim of the bonnet created a horizontal line and when tied under the chin, the brim created a nice frame around the face. For evening, feathers, pearls, lace, or ribbons were worn in the hair. There was also a small brimless bonnet worn with the ribbon untied at the nape of the neck. Underwear Women's undergarments were essentially unchanged from the previous period; a knee-length chemise was worn beneath a boned corset and masses of starched petticoats. Also, some undergarments, like the corset, were worn to make women look thinner. Outerwear With the narrow, sloping shoulder line of the 1840s, the shawl returned to fashion, where it would remain through the 1860s. It was now generally square and worn folded on the diagonal. Riding habits consisted of a high-necked, tight-waisted jacket with long snug sleeves, worn over a tall-collared shirt or chemisette, with a long matching petticoat or skirt. Contrasting waistcoats or vests cut like those worn by men were briefly popular. Tall hats or broad-brimmed hats like those worn by men were worn. With the new narrower sleeves, coats and jackets returned to fashion. These were generally knee-length with a cape-like collar. Ankle-length cloaks with cape collars to cover slits for the arms were worn in cold or wet weather. Ermine muffs with attached handkerchiefs were worn to keep hands warm and be fashionable. The pelerine was a popular name for wide, capelike collars that extended over the shoulders and covered the upper chest. Sometimes they had layers of tiered fabric, long front panels hanging down from the center front, or were also belted at the natural waistline. The mantlet was a general name for any small cape worn as outerwear. Style gallery 184044 1 c. 1840 2 1841 3 1841 4 1841 5 -1842 6 1842 7 1844 8 1844 Transitional gown, c. 1840. The fullness at the shoulder has moved down the arm, and although the gown is still belted in an 1830s manner, the fabric is gathered in to accentuate the V-shaped front rather than the breadth of the shoulders. This is an early image of hair worn in cascades of curls or ringlets. 1841 fashion plate shows lower sleeve fullness, triangular or V-shaped emphasis in the bodice, and a sloping shoulder line. The indoor cap is trimmed with ribbon loops and frills. Viennese summer fashions for 1841 feature pleated panels at the breast and sloping shoulder over long sleeves. The waist is narrow and slightly pointed, and skirts are bell-shaped. Marie-Louis, Queen of the Belgians wears a red velvet evening gown with a pointed waist. Her hair is worn in a mass of sausage curls, 1841. A fashion plate from La Mode seems to play up the contrast between a menswear-influenced riding habit and a more ordinary high fashion. Baroness Rothschild wears a pink satin evening gown with rows of ruching at the hem and lace frills at the collar and sleeves, all trimmed with ribbon bows. Her hair is smoothed over her ears and decorated with ostrich plumes, 1848. In Winterhalter's portrait of 1848, Princess Maria Carolina Augusta of Bourbon-Two Sicilies wears her hair parted in the center and hanging in sausage curls. Her skirt is gathered with wide, flat pleats, and the pleating on her bodice is visible through the black lace. Fashion illustration of 1849. Men's fashion Landscape painter Oswald Achenbach wears a broad-brimmed hat for a painting tour of Italy. He wears a striped ascot and his waistcoat has the rounded chest and lowered waistline of the late 1840s. His waistcoat is finished with two points at the lowered waist and contrasts with both his striped trousers and brown coat. Similar styles were worn in the American West at this time. Overview In this period, men's fashion plates show the lowered waistline taking on a decision point at the front waist, which was accompanied by a full rounded chest. Albert, Prince Consort of Queen Victoria, had a high influence on male fashion, primarily because of his young age at the time of his wife's coronation, and his great attention to his appearance. Therefore, the clothing, particularly of upper-class gentlemen, continued to follow the trend of earlier decades with full shoulders and chest and a tightly-cinched waist. Shirts and cravats Shirts of linen or cotton featured lower standing collars, occasionally turned down, and were worn with wide cravats or neckties tied in several different ways: Around the neck, knotted in front, and puffed up to hide the shirt collar and create a pigeon-like neck Similar to the first version but tucked down into the waistcoat Around the neck and knotted into a bow tie The "Osbaldiston", a barrel shape knot under the chin Knotted in a wide pointy bow. Dark cravats were popular for day wear and patterned ones were worn in the country. At this time, the dickey was introduced, a false shirt front usually made of satin. It was worn with an "intentionally messy" look. Coats and waistcoats Frock coats (in French redingotes) were worn for informal day wear, were calf-length and might be double-breasted. The shoulders were narrower and slightly sloped. Waistcoats or vests were single- or double-breasted, with a shawl or notched collars, and might be finished in double points at the lowered waist. A cutaway morning coat was worn with light trousers for any formal daytime occasion; an evening dress called for a dark tail coat and trousers. A frockcoat was a tight-fitting coat with the front cut up to the waistline, this was for casual wear. A vest replaces the waistcoat at this time, they were still very decorative with no collar. A pardessus for men was a large, black formal cape with a yoke across the shoulder line. A chesterfield was a calf-length, fur-lined coat, with a fur collar, cuffs, and lapels. There was also no waistline seam. Trousers Full-length trousers had fly fronts. Breeches remained a requirement for formal functions at the British court (as they would be throughout the century). Breeches continued to be worn for horseback riding and other country pursuits, especially in Britain, with tall fitted boots. Hats and hairstyles The crowns of tall hats were straighter than in the previous period and grew taller on the way to the stovepipe shape of the 1850s. They were essential for formal occasions and in cities. Wide-brimmed hats were worn outdoors in sunny climates. Curled hair and sideburns remained fashionable, along with mustaches. British civil servant Charles Edward Trevelyan wears a boldly checked waistcoat and a patterned cravat with fly-front trousers and a dark frock coat, the 1840s. The Duke of Beaufort wears a dark coat and breeches with a deep red waistcoat. His black cravat is fastened with a stick pin, and he wears heeled boots, 1845. 1848 fashion plate shows the lowered waistline and full, rounded chest popular in the latter 1840s (compare to the waistline of the 1841 styles). Alexandre Cabanel wears his cravat loosely tied and secured with a stickpin, 1847. Children's Fashion In this period, children's wear followed trends found in adult fashion. Wool and cashmere were popular textiles for baby cloaks while cotton was still widely accepted for toddler dresses, drawers, and playwear. A popular silhouette for toddlers was a cotton bodice, pleated skirt, and long sleeves. Small boys (ages 3 through 6) commonly wore a Tunic suit, also known as "Hussar tunics". The jackets were fitted to the waist and then flared out to a full skirt ending at knee length. This was worn over trousers, or for very small boys with white drawers. A round-collared shirt was usually worn underneath the jacket. Elementary to older age boys wore an Eton suit, which was a short, waist-level jacket, trousers, round-collared shirts, vest, and sometimes neckties. In 1840 flat caps were popularly worn by boys. Small girls wore cotton drawers, cotton chemise, petticoats, and stockings. As girls got older in age they followed the trend of their mothers and began to wear stays or tight corsets Young boy in a tunic, shirt, and trousers, 1840 French boy, 184344 Prince Albert Edward, The future King Edward VII in a sailor suit,1846 Fashion plate of young girl's costume, 1849 See also Victorian fashion References ^ a b c d Warren, Geoffrey. Paper Industry Rebound Faster

Recently, we conducted a major telephone survey of listed companies, with the front-line sales staff on the current market conditions sufficiently exchanges. Summary information on all research, our general feeling is: The current industry rebound faster than we imagine. Rising paper prices accelerated, copper, white card, and white Cardboard Among the biggest gainers in June accelerated since the price of paper rose, copper, white cards, and paperboard prices 800-1,000 yuan/ton, or more than 15%. Current Coated Paper Price Report 6200-6300 yuan / ton, ex-factory price of about 6,000 yuan / ton; white cardboard Report 6400 yuan / ton. Producer price is about 6200 yuan/ton; White Board Report 4200-4300 yuan/ton, the ex-factory price of about 4,000 yuan/ton. Prices remain relatively stable types of paper. Offset current price report 6500-6600 yuan / ton, prices 6200-6300 yuan, up 200-300 yuan / ton; Newsprint Price Report 4400-4500 yuan / ton, compared to 300-400 dollars up front, or 10%; Cardboard Report 3400-3600 Yuan /. Tons, up 100-200 dollars, was up. Years look, good copper, white card and whiteboard reasons: lower demand, profitability continued to improve. Coated paper consumption increase was affected by real estate, Car Driven recovery, etc.; and enter the third quarter, some of the traditional Mid-Autumn Festival after the arrival of white card and whiteboard into the drive consumption season, it is learned, Tobacco Factory 7 monthly shipments doubled. Performance: significant reduction in mill inventories, tight supply. To Sun Paper, for example, the normal inventory level is generally from 7 days to two weeks, and the current inventory, only 3 days, close to zero inventory, order adequate supply tight. As the production capacity has been fully released, the state could expect this shortage to continue until the end of the late copper, the price of white cards and whiteboards there is a big upside. Cost: The main raw materials Wood pulp Growth has slowed down. High-grade coated white board with copper and wood pulp as raw material, and because of weak external demand, the recent price growth has slowed down the global pulp, conifer pulp price, or even a slight callback. In this case, the substantial increase in paper prices will undoubtedly improve the industry's profitability. Sun Paper's most benefit, continue to be key recommendation copper, the largest proportion of white card and whiteboard. As a copperplate, white card, and white paperboard production expert, Sun Paper's capacity of three types of paper together accounted for nearly 80% of total capacity, which will undoubtedly become the biggest beneficiary. Substantial reserves of low raw materials to further expand margins. On the other hand, low in the second quarter of sufficient reserves of raw materials, basic protection in October can be required prior to production, making its current raw material cost lower than the industry average. In this case, margins will be further expanded. The second half of the performance increased significantly. From the research point of view, our preliminary earnings forecast is conservative, mainly reflected in the second half of copper, white card, and the whiteboard is expected to lower the price.
